We have compiled a list of links to the various Academic Resources that may be useful for interested students. Feel free to update us if you have additional inputs too. Click on the headers below to be directed to the following websites / channels.

Online Resources for JC

  • Ever needed help or consultations to answer your burning questions about JC studies? EduHope is an initiative started by RI and HCI graduates that provides personalised, ad-hoc and free 1-to-1 tutoring with a senior who has scored A for the subject

  • Online consultations are made available to you for a month (around 4 sessions), and this can be renewed on a monthly basis

  • To sign up as a student/tutee: https://forms.gle/KvakVXbmdckAfj1D9

  • To join their Telegram channel, which provides useful resources (e.g. compilation of student notes) and tips for studying/surviving JC: t.me/eduhopesg

  • To sign up as a tutor: https://forms.gle/jPXyQGTbmKxJamBm7

  • If you have any questions, feel free to email them at eduhopesg@gmail.com.

  • Distinct from the other websites in that they provide personalized coaching, as there are tutors to answer your questions directly either through Discord voice channels or via Discord messaging

  • Covers a wide range of subjects and even includes O level tutoring

  • They also send out current affairs news bites along with article summaries regularly which can be useful for GP

  • Contains useful notes for many subjects, especially GP

  • They have IB notes as well though these are less common

  • I've added their higher-quality notes in the respective subject folders under the "Academic Resources" tab

  • Similar to Smart Guppy, they also provide notes for the various subjects, though some of them are outdated and there is a narrower range of subjects compared to Smart Guppy

  • Free YouTube lessons on GP, Economics, Geography and Math, covering both content and skills

  • Though they may not go as in-depth as formal school lessons, these videos are good for getting a rough taste of the subjects or to learn the subject ahead of time

  • The SG Exams website contains notes and resources uploaded for free usage and download

  • Their Reddit page is also an authentic platform to discuss exam questions, exchange notes, share personal experiences of the various subjects for future juniors, and give academic advice in general

  • An online study guide that includes tips on how to prepare and do well for the PCME subject combination, including non-academic advice from a senior, as well as some information on a H3 subject

  • SAJC has provided some introductory videos for JC subjects, which can help O level graduates decide subject combination and get a feel of the subjects

  • Though targeted mainly at parents, the site also offers some ECG resources

  • A website that provides free video lessons for various subjects

  • Note: choose courses with more videos, as some “courses” are not complete

[Specific to GP] The Knowledge Loft

  • Provides GP content notes and offers model essays

  • Practice Paper 2 Comprehensions for free

[Specific to GP] GP.SG

  • Rather than content, this website offers several Paper 1 and Paper 2 notes that largely focus on skills required for the A levels

  • Simple current affairs reports. Targeted at Sec 1-4s but still applicable for GP.

  • Provides good bite-sized commentary on Singaporean political and current affairs issues via summarized Instagram posts

[Specific to Math] Achevas TV

  • As of 2022, this tuition centre provides free video lessons for H2 Math, along with TYS solutions explained using video

  • Very useful if you want to learn a math topic ahead of time

[Specific to Math] Tim Gan Math

  • Contains H2 Math Question Bank, Essential Topic Questions, TYS solutions with video explanation.

[Specific to Math] White Group Maths

  • Under "The Question Locker Vault 1" and "The Question Locker Vault 2", you can find many practice questions for the different Math topics, along with sample answers

[Specific to Economics] Economics Cafe

  • Website of a tuition centre that provides free Economics model essays and TYS solutions

  • Note that the TYS solutions are not complete (but worth a try)

Self-Enrichment Materials and Readings
  • Free university-level online video courses direct from actual universities (they also have self-enrichment courses that are not at the university level)

  • You can also pay to get a verified certificate for these two MOOCs

  • Useful for further learning out of interest or to get a taste of what university courses are like

  • Free university courses along with free certificates - less eminent than EdX but definitely cheaper

  • Note however that the variety of courses they offer is less diverse than the more well-known MOOCs

  • Free video lessons and practice tests for all kinds of subjects (American-style)

  • Helpful specifically for SATs for students wishing to go to US universities, but less applicable to the A levels

  • Free international textbooks on a myriad of subjects including Chemistry, Math, Dentistry, Technology, Philosophy, History, Linguistics etc, mostly at the university level

  • This Magazine provides articles and write-ups that may be useful for GP (and sometimes even philosophical ones)

  • These news outlets have YouTube channels which publish short explanatory videos about all sorts of social issues

  • Note that they have a bias for the political left

ECG and University Resources
  • A website consisting of write-ups from the various seniors in university about their recommendations

  • Advice for the various university courses and future careers (though this is targeted more for JC students about to enter university)

  • Initiative that offers short 2-hour sessions on multiple university courses, taught by undergraduates, to help students better decide whether they want to pursue the course in university

  • Useful to get a feel of what the various university courses are like, allowing students to make a more informed decision

  • Website that offers writeups about the various university courses by students currently in them

  • They aren't just overly sanitized, so it gives you a more accurate idea of how the course is like

  • A platform that allows you to sign up for one-on-one mentoring by seniors, who can help you with local / foreign university applications such as giving you tips on your personal statement

  • Includes senior write-ups about university life and various courses, including law, medicine, etc

  • Similar to Connectr: free one-to-one mentorship specially for students from less privileged backgrounds, to match them with a mentor who studies their degree at their interested university

  • Basically a platform that includes a bit of everything that TaCo, U-Path, and Connectr offers; though it focuses mainly on linking you up with seniors who have gone through the course you are interested in

  • A website that shares stories of working professionals and how their university education has influenced their jobs now

  • Targeted at helping prospective undergraduates make more informed decisions about their choice of study

  • A youth-led nonprofit site targeted at helping students make informed career and further education choices by breaking down the barriers to access information about the various careers, to create a level playing field

  • Blog that publishes content that would be useful to those entering the job market, such as CV tips, traineeships, and internships

  • Streamlined platform to apply for a host of scholarships, including government statutory board scholarships like LTA, NEA, SHB, etc

  • Also provides interviews and useful insights from past scholarship recipients
